Pete Jr. Vice Pres. Corbon ammo with his South TX cull.
I believe the tattoo is what makes him shoot so darn good.

From Bradley Veal:
This buck came across the pasture in a dead run after a hot doe. I yelled at him to try and slow him down, but that didn’t work. I already had my 300 yard dope dialed in and he was at about 250 when I sqeezed off on him. It’s my best buck to date, and I couldn’t be happier! Haven’t got him scored yet, but the taxidermist said he’s gonna be close to a 140″. Thanks to APA for building me a fine rifle that gets the job done every time and does it with style!

Here sits Jeff Eaton, a fine gentleman and guide from the infamous Timberghost Ranch in Iowa. Jeff has never shot beyond 500 yards, so prior to our trip he requested I bring a little something that we could stretch the legs out on. He requested I bring the most accurate rifle I had, and my reply was “They are all accurate rifles… What do you want to shoot?” While all of our guns are built with no compromise, I ended up bringing my 338 Lapua and we set out one afternoon for a 1 mile shot. The ammo used during the shoot was Corbon 300g match grade ammo.
Our target……..a 2.5 gallon jug that we painted bright orange. I set the gun up for Jeff and handed him a five round mag with Corbon’s finest. Shot one went down range and appeared to go right over the top of the target. My instructions were “hold slightly lower, you’re right over the top of it.” I’m not calling corrections in MOA or MILS b/c Jeff isn’t 100% up to speed with the math and it really just needed to be simple. So now we have shot two in the air………same call…………”hold a little lower, you’re right over the top of it.” This continues for the entire five shots. Thinking he blew all five shots over the target we drove down to investigate the target and find our impacts in the sand. Here is what we found:

Little did we know that a 300g bullet will blow right through a 2.5 gallon plastic jug at 1 mile without knocking it over. I’m still scratching my head on that one and Jeff is still complaining that I messed his group up. Either way, it was a fun day at the range with some great people. Congrats to Jeff for bridging the gap between 500 yards and a mile.
